Summary: Week of 6/13/26
After several quiet months, Biobot’s national network is picking up a new signal that SARS-CoV-2 and RSV are both increasing nationally.
For SARS-CoV-2, this could be the first signs of the start of a summer wave. For RSV, we tend to see some low-level, sporadic summer activity. Both signals are still worth watching especially as summer travel ramps up and large events like the World Cup are bringing more people into crowded airports and cities. We’ll be watching closely to see how these signals progress.
Other major respiratory viruses, including influenza A, influenza B, and HMPV. remain low, steady, or declining.
The Bottom Line: Respiratory virus activity is still low overall, but the trend is starting to change. SARS-CoV-2 and RSV are both increasing nationally, so this is a good time to pay attention to local respiratory activity, especially if you’re traveling, attending large events, or spending time with someone at higher risk.

We continue to monitor evolving health threats, like measles outbreaks and H5N1 avian influenza, and can test samples specifically for these viruses. Please reach out to hello@biobot.io if interested. We will share any important updates as we have them. Wastewater data from Biobot Analytics for RSV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2 are through June 13, 2026 (MMWR week 23).
