Respiratory Virus Wastewater Monitoring in the U.S. | Week of June 20, 2026

Summary: Week of 6/20/26

Biobot’s national network is showing that, once again, major respiratory viruses are quiet. After brief increases in SARS-CoV-2 and RSV, national trends for both are back down. We are seeing some increases in SARS-CoV-2 in the West, though at low levels. We’ll be paying close attention to see if those blips could be an early warning signal of a summer wave.

Other major respiratory viruses, including influenza A, influenza B, and HMPV, remain low and steady, or declining.

The Bottom Line: Respiratory virus activity remains low overall. SARS-CoV-2 and RSV recently saw some increases, but are both back down. This is still a good time to pay attention to local respiratory activity, especially if you’re traveling, attending large events, or spending time with someone at higher risk.

We continue to monitor evolving health threats, like measles outbreaks and H5N1 avian influenza, and can test samples specifically for these viruses. Please reach out to hello@biobot.io if interested. We will share any important updates as we have them.

Wastewater data from Biobot Analytics for RSV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2 are through June 20, 2026 (MMWR week 24).
