Honorable Andrew C. Weber Joins Biobot Analytics’ Board of Advisors

Mr. Weber is a Leader in Strengthening Global Health Security

Cambridge, Mass. – May 4, 2021 – Biobot Analytics, a leader in wastewater epidemiology, today
announced that Andrew Weber, a Senior Fellow at The Council on Strategic Risks, has joined the
company’s newly-formed Board of Advisors.

“Mr. Weber’s decades of experience and leadership in global health security will be an invaluable
asset, and we are delighted to welcome him to our Board of Advisors,” said Newsha Ghaeli,
President and Cofounder of Biobot Analytics. “Mr. Weber’s guidance and perspective will be vital
during this period of rapid growth. We are fortunate to add his experience at the highest levels of
government and national security as wastewater epidemiology plays an increasingly important
role in pandemic preparedness and biodefense”

Mr. Weber has dedicated his professional life to countering nuclear, chemical, and biological
threats and to strengthening global health security. His 30 years of U.S. government service
include acting as Advisor for Threat Reduction Policy at the Pentagon, as President Obama’s
Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs, and as
Deputy Coordinator for Ebola Response for the Department of State.

“Better early warning of infectious disease outbreaks can make this the last pandemic,” said Mr.
Weber. “Wastewater epidemiology, a field pioneered and led by Biobot researchers, provides an
exciting new “smoke alarm’.”

Mr. Weber is currently a Strategic Advisor for Ginkgo Bioworks and consultant for DARPA,
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and others. He serves on the Boards of the Arms
Control Association and Healthcare Ready, and the James Martin Center for Non-proliferation
Studies International Advisory Council. He was a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s
Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and is a member of the Council on Foreign
Relations. Mr. Weber graduated from Cornell University and holds a Master of Science in Foreign
Service degree from Georgetown University.
